WELCOME TO WSCHOWA DISTRICT
We warmly invite you to visit Wschowa District which is situated in the heart of a historical land of Wschowa. The district is formed of three towns – Wschowa, Sława and Szlichtyngowa – places with a rich origin, where the influence of many cultures came together. Over here you can find many different sacred and architectural monuments, amazing landscapes as well as places to spend time actively.
The moraine valleys give to the land plenty of charm and beauty. There are many post – glacial lakes, picturesque grounds crossed by brooks and canals.
Many lakes are situated particulary in the north – west side of the district. The largest one – Sławskie Lake – is called “The Silesia Sea”. It’s a dream place for sailors, fishermen and holidaymakers who have at their disposal large sandy beaches, water slides and water – equipment rental.
The amazing, full of blackberries and mushrooms forests make the area even more attractive, so there’s no wonder why in the season there are plenty of forest fruits fans.
Apart from nature values you can find many precious monuments of architecture and art – churches, palaces, manor – houses as well as a unique in Poland Lapidary of Cemetry Sculptures for example.
The architecture of the towns here is kept mainly in old – fashion style. Representing a high level of art baroque tenement houses, well kept medieval brickworks, towers, fountains and tiny stone – bridges, they all are the strong points of the land.
Most of those places are shrouded in legends – as colorful and mysterious as the history of the Land of Wschowa.
